Hindi inaalis ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra ang posibilidad na panagutin niya ang mga opisyal ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) sa panibagong riot na naganap sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP) sa Muntinlupa City kung saan tatlo ang nasawi at 64 ang sugatan, Lunes ng umaga.
“The BuCor (Bureau of Corrections) Security Force, PNP SAF (Philippine National Police Special Action Force), and PNP NCRPO SWAT (National Capital Region Police Office Special Weapons and Tactics) are conducting clearing operations. The DOJ has ordered the BuCor to submit a detailed report,” ayon kay Guevarra.
Sinabi rin ni Guevarra na aatasan niya ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na magsagawa ng parallel investigation o palalimin pa ang pagsisiyasat sa naganap na riot.
“These BuCor officials should have learned their lesson from the previous violent incident where several PDLs were killed,” ani Guevarra nang tanungin kung nagkaroon ng kapabayaan sa mga BuCor official kasama na si Director General Gerald Bantag.(Juliet de Loza-Cudia)
