(SPOT.ph) There’s been a lot of good news for movie fans lately. After a short run in theaters, Call Me by Your Name is now getting a nationwide release. The 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival has also been extended after reaching its P1 billion goal. Here’s some more good news: The critically acclaimed film Lady Bird will now also be hitting theaters on February 28 at select Ayala Malls Cinemas.
The coming-of-age film is the directorial debut of actress Greta Gerwig (No Strings Attached, To Rome with Love, Mistress America), who also wrote the film. It revolves around Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan), a high school senior, and her complicated relationship with her mother Marion (Laurie Metcalf).
The film had a 100% fresh rating on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes even after 196 reviews, the most for any film since Toy Story 2. It recently won "Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy" at the 2018 Golden Globes.
