(SPOT.ph) Now on its seventh edition, Design Week Philippines continues its mission to foster local and global awareness on the creativity of the Filipinos. It promises to showcase 41 partners and 32 events in 16 venues all over the Metro from April 14 to 22. This includes a series of design talks, tours, workshops, art booths, weekend market, and other exciting activities geared towards gathering the best of the best in Philippine art and design. The nine-day event can be a bit overwhelming, so we list down everything you need to know about this year's celebration.
Venue
Design Week comes home to Intramuros, the historical Walled City in Manila, to bring back the glory it once had in terms of cultural foundation. Plaza Moriones, Fort Santiago, Lyceum of the Philippines University, and Destileria Limtuaco are just some of its partner locations.
Simultaneous art events are also expected to happen beyond the walls of Intramuros, including World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City; Pineapple Lab, Studio Fort, and Acceler8 Coworking in Makati City; Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City; and Escolta in Manila.
Design Talks, Creative Workshops, and Film Screenings
In partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Design Center of the Philippines, and other organizations, Design Week Philippines is hosting several hands-on creative workshops and art booths at Plaza Moriones, Intramuros, Manila.
