22-year old cosplayer, actress, singer and host Myrtle Abigail Porlucas Sarrosa says she is composing her own songs and doing her own make-up whenever she cosplay.
It can be recalled that Myrtle has been a part of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4 and hailed as the Big Winner.
She said that it was actually her dream to be a part of the said reality show but she did not imagine that she would win and she would become an artist because her only goal before is to study hard and be a lawyer.
But it was 2016 when she started writing songs. Together with Jonathan Ong, she composed “Lampara” and “Magkaibang Mundo” for Jennylyn Mercado’s album entitled “Ultimate” and “Haplos” for Maja Salvador’s single.
Myrtle also released her major-label debut studio album, “Now Playing: Myrtle” with 10 songs during the same year after signing a record deal with Ivory Music & Video (Sony Music Philippines).
Her album was awarded a certified Gold Award by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry for its outstanding album sales and it produced two top singles Mr. Pakipot and LABEL together with rapper Abra in which she wrote the first song in the album while the verses were written by Abra.
She was only able to write songs when she is sad and/or depressed as she finds it easier to have the “hugot” in the songs she is composing.
“Ang hirap humugot ‘pag masaya ka eh,” the singer said.
Aside from writing songs, Myrtle is already a graduating student of University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. She took up AB Communication Major in Broadcasting because according to her, “parang nag-iba ‘yung calling sa akin after ng PBB.”
