Crash Landing On You stars and real-life couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin star in Philippine telecommunications giant Smart’s latest advertisement.
The ad, set to Filipino band Ben&Ben’s original song “Inevitable,” was released on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Ben&Ben, who are also Smart endorsers, wrote the song specifically for the campaign.
In it, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin try to look for each other in a crowded city using 5G technology. Smart has been rolling out 5G in key areas in the country.
Hyun Bin was announced as Smart’s endorser in June 2020. Son Ye-jin followed as Smart endorser in August 2020. Back then, it was rumored that they were a couple – news they eventually confirmed on January 1, 2021.
The two starred in the 2019 hit Korean series Crash Landing On You, which was released simultaneously on Netflix. In the show, Son Ye-jin plays a powerful South Korean businesswoman who finds herself accidentally crossing the border to North Korea during a paragliding mishap. There, she meets Hyun Bin, a North Korean soldier who takes her in. They eventually fall for each other.
The two are among the biggest stars in South Korea. Smart has also tapped actor Park Seo-jooon and global sensations BTS as endorsers. – Rappler.com
