Exactly 9 years after his unforgettable “Linsanity” run, Jeremy Lin turned back the clock and flashed his vintage form in the Santa Cruz Warriors’ 124-116 victory over the Westchester Knicks in the NBA G League on Saturday, February 13 (Sunday, February 14, Manila time) at the Disney World bubble in Orlando, Florida.
Lin, a member of the 2019 Toronto Raptors championship squad, waxed hot from deep, draining 7 three-pointers en route to a game-high 29 points.
The 32-year-old Lin finished the game on a very impressive 7-of-9 shooting clip from three-point range, along with 9 assists to lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to its first win of the season.
Lin, who last played for the Beijing Ducks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), has been having a terrific comeback season thus far in the NBA G League, averaging 12.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 3 games.
More importantly, Lin has been thriving in his role as a mentor to younger players like Jordan Poole and Nico Mannion, who had 26 and 22 points respectively in the victory.
Recently, Lin launched a campaign called “3s For Hope”, where the star point guard would donate to several organizations for every three-pointer he makes this season.
“Whatever the outcome, I want to be someone that inspires others to pursue their dreams. That’s why I’m continuing last year’s donation but making it global,” wrote Lin.
“The campaign is called ‘3s for Hope.’ For every three pointer I make this season, I’m donating to several organizations across the globe supporting children from vulnerable families and communities, to give them the opportunity to thrive and succeed,” he added.
With 12 more elimination games to play in the G League bubble, the Taiwanese-American Lin would surely have a lot to donate at the end of the season as he has been shooting the lights out from deep lately.
