2017 is a milestone year for Philippines as it hosted the 50th anniversary of ASEAN. It showed more than just the Filipino hospitality and culture but more so provided a greater perspective on how Philippines can be a strong force in the region for economic, socio-cultural, and political development among other aspects.
And it was a great honor to have led the business sector as the chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC), an ally of the government in its mission of having inclusive growth in the region. This is why we have opted to use the theme, “Partnering for Change, Prosperity for All” which has resonated all year round in all activities and engagements of the private sector.
