With the goal of bringing mentorship closer to every Filipino, Go Negosyo together with the Department of Trade and Industry has been championing the advocacy to provide access to capacity building for the underserved and unserved MSMEs through on-site free one on one mentorship encounters across the country conducted by the esteemed network of Go Negosyo Mentors.

Last November 12, Mentor Me On Wheels arrived at its 11th stop at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City, and served more than 300 entrepreneurs both start-up and existing business owners. Dedicated mentors led by Natividad Cheng, Founder & CEO of Multiflex RNC Philippines, Inc. (Uratex); Rey Lapid, Owner and President of R. Lapid’s Chicharon & Barbecue – R.L. Foods Corp; Winston Uy, President of Universal Leaf Philippines, Inc. and 40 more mentors joined the mentoring session.

Present during the program were Hon. Mauricio Domogan, City Mayor of the Local Government of Baguio City; Hon. Cresencio Pacalso, Provincial Governor of Benguet; Grace Baluyan, DTI – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Assistant Regional Director.

Aside from the mentoring session, there was a forum on Creativepreneurship held at the University of the Philippines – Baguio. Panelists include Adelaida Lim (HABI The Philippine Textile Council Inc.); Christian Monsod (Warner Music Philippines); Robert Alejandro (Papelmelroti); Armando Bartolome (GMB Franchise Developers); Mark Panganiban (Dragonpay); and Ben Hur Villanueva, a seasoned artist and creativepreneur. The forum was moderated by Joel Santos (THAMES International Business School).

The two-hour forum focused mainly on: 1. Achieving prosperity through entrepreneurial creativity; 2. Scaling up creative and innovative ideas into value-creating profitable business and; 3. Overcoming challenges in the industry; intellectual property rights, how to price your output and access to market. The discussion was led by Go Negosyo, Department of Tourism – CAR, and DTI-CAR in partnership with UP Baguio.

Through MMOW, Go Negosyo and its partner, Department of Trade and Industry will introduce mentors to micro and small entrepreneurs offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through sessions in convenient and accessible locations. This program is in line with the current administration’s vision to capacitate micro and small businesses in boosting the Philippine economy.

Full house mentoring session during the afternoon for Mentor Me On Wheels Baguio City.
