(SPOT.ph) It just can't be helped: Filipinos love urban legends, no matter how ridiculous they can get. There isn’t much you can do when people start believing in tall tales—other than make the most of it! Just in time for Halloween, Robinsons Galleria has released a video featuring a still amazing-looking Alice Dixson, and we're pretty sure it's something every Pinoy is going to find amusing.
The actress was once rumored to have been kidnapped by the alleged mutant snake living in Robinsons malls while she was shopping. As crazy as it sounds, people actually believed it. Robinsons makes light of the old rumor and posts a video of Dixson shopping in Robinsons Galleria, captioned: “It’s good to revisit old stories. But it's better to make new ones."
The video begins with Dixson shopping for clothes when she begins to notice a creepy, hissing sound in the fitting room. Wary, she re-opens the curtain, only to find a little boy running around in a cute, reptilian costume (complete with a tail bouncing up and down behind him). And since she wasn't kidnapped by the snake, she then goes around the newly renovated mall.
Different versions of the story about the rumored Robinsons “snake” have been passed around for years, with the most popular one saying that the mutant snake is the twin brother of Robina Gokongwei-Pe, daughter of JG Summit founder (and mall owner), John Gokongwei. The rumor circulated around the 1990s, when everyone believed that the creature frequented the ladies’ fitting rooms of the department store. In a previous interview with SPOT.ph, Gokongwei-Pe laughed off the rumor about her supposed twin, saying, "Ahas? Naging handbag at sapatos na sa Robinsons!"
