(SPOT.ph) The long wait is almost over for Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral—the highly anticipated sequel to 2016's Heneral Luna—when it finally premieres on September 5. They've been teasing fans with short clips, behind-the-scenes videos, an official soundtrack, and virtual tours of their filming locations—but now the movie's final full trailer is here to show you what you can expect from the film.
Produced by TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions, and Globe Studios, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral focuses on Gregorio del Pilar (played by Paulo Avelino), one of the youngest generals in the Philippine army during the Philippine Revolution. The film picks up after the death of Heneral Luna (John Arcilla) in the first movie and how del Pilar deals with its aftermath.
In the trailer, del Pilar's role in the revolution is highlighted by his fellow soldiers, who call him the "Eagle" and President Emilio Aguinaldo's favorite. In between battle preparations and dramatic politicking, he also strikes up a complicated romance. Directed by Jerrold Tarog, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral also stars Epy Quizon as Apolinario Mabini, Mon Confiado as Aguinaldo, Benjamin Alves as Manuel L. Quezon, as well as Carlo Aquino, Arron Villaflor, and Nonie Buencamino, among others.
Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral premieres on September 5.
