(SPOT.ph) Sapporo, capital city of Hokkaido in Japan, is known for its scenic natural parks, historic districts, the annual Snow Festival, and—of course—Sapporo Beer. The place was even featured in the 2017 indie rom-com hit Kita Kita where Lea (Alessandra de Rossi) and Tonyo (Empoy Marquez) fell in love in the beautiful city. Manila-based tourists can now easily fly to this winter wonderland through Philippine Airlines' new direct flights, as announced by the flag carrier on July 5.
The Manila-Hokkaido flight service starts on September 10, with Philippines Airlines' brand new A321neo airbus leaving Manila at 4:50 a.m. and arriving at New Chitose Airport by 11:35 a.m. Flights are available thrice a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is the only non-stop six-hour flight from Manila to the Japanese prefecture, according to the commercial airline.
To celebrate the launch of the new route, Philippine Airlines is offering a promo fare for as low as U.S. $399 (economy roundtrip). The one-day sale happens today, July 6.
