What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, starring Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young, is based on the web novel of the same title by Jung Kyung-yoon which was first published in 2013, which was then serialized into a comic in 2015.

As mentioned above, the storyline of a rich guy falling in love with an ordinary woman is a common theme in Korean drama and the audience might be bored of it already. However, the chemistry between the leads and their incredible acting skills are perfect for the comic based drama!

Although the recent theme of South Korean tv series has been revolving around some serious and intense storyline, this does not mean that fans of Korean drama have forgotten about the cute and romantic kind of dramas.
3. Accumulated popularity
A certain amount of popularity has been accumulated for this popular webtoon which makes the drama comes out on top. As the cost of finding a well-known writer to write a screenplay is getting higher and higher, many TV stations have changed their strategy, that is by adapting the already popular comics into dramas. No wonder there are a total of 23 dramas which have been adapted from online novels or comics this year in Korea!
