(SPOT.ph) If there's anything Train to BusanGet Out, It, and A Quiet Place have shown us, it's that horror movies just get scarier and scarier every time. You may have lost a couple of hours' sleep from those movies, but this next one is sure to keep you awake (and keep the lights on) for at least a week when it hits theaters on June 20. Hereditary has a 100% rating on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes after it premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in January.

The trailer itself is already nightmare-inducing. In Australia, it actually caused everyone to run out of a cinema screaming...because it accidentally played before a screening of the kid's movie Peter Rabbit. But really, it's been critically acclaimed in reviews that have gone on to say that it goes beyond being scary and is actually emotionally terrorizing since it involves family issues and relationships. The hair-raising film is the directorial debut of Ari Aster, who also helped writing it.

The story revolves around the Graham family, whose grandmother Ellen dies from cancer. Ellen's daughter Annie (Toni Colette), her psychologist husband Steve (Gabriel Byrne), their son Peter (Alex Wolff) and daughter Charlie (Milly Shapiro) are in grief—Charlie, especially, because she had an unusual connection with her grandmother. But soon enough, they find themselves learning terrifying new things about their family's ancestral secrets.

Hereditary opens on June 20.
