(SPOT.ph) With the higher excise duties on tobacco following President Rodrigo Duterte's tax reform in 2018, cigarette smoking has become a costlier habit for consumers. The duty on tobacco products was raised from P30 per pack to P32.50 per pack since January 1, and will increase to P30 by July 1. This, however, was found to not be enough to stop smokers from spending their money on the habit-forming substance.
