(SPOT.ph) Power glitches, a coach detaching itself from the train, slow speed, and derailing are just some of the technical failures that the MRT-3 has been experiencing in the last months (or years). The breakdowns have been happening so often on the woefully maintained public transport system that photos of people walking on railroad tracks, squeezing together like sardines inside coaches, and lining up for hours on the platforms have become a common thing. But on February 28, the Department of Transportation announced the greatest news ever—a record-breaking zero passenger unloading incident for seven consecutive days!

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) made the announcement on their Facebook page on the last day of February. "The last unloading incident was recorded 21 February 2018. An all-time high since MTT takeover, and since 2017!" Management attributes this to the arrival of the spare parts for the trains.

It was in November when the MRT-3 Maintenance Transition Team took over as maintenance provider, replacing Busan Universal Rail Inc. The foreign company's contract was terminated due to their "Failure to put in service and ensure the availability of trains" and "Failure to put in operation reliable and efficient trains."

People on the Internet have a lot of things to say about this celebratory post. Some taxpayers question the standards of their services, but others have a more hopeful response. What do you think?
