(SPOT.ph) Stepping into the charming 2680 F.B. Harrison compound in Pasay would make you doubt if you're actually in the right venue for a contemporary art event. The post-war neighborhood, after all, features rows of houses with large windows and balconies from a bygone era, and a fountain that seems to be from the time of the ilustrados. But the reality behind the gates, which has now been transformed into an art hub with a boutique hotel and a number of galleries and showrooms, is the reason why it's the perfect spot for Omnibus—an art pop-up that runs until March 11 at Artelano 11.
Omnibus' interesting and modern appeal beautifully coincides with the Old World vibe of the place. The event showcases experimentation in the arts—be it a theme, genre, or medium. "Omnibus" is a Latin word for "for all," which is fitting for the variety of artists and works included in the roster.
Here are some of the finds that immediately caught our eye during the opening on March 8:
Patched button-front (P5,000) from Randolf
"The Native" dog collar with chevron fringes from Sergeant And Major Pet Accessories
“Under A Mound You Shall Never Find” (P38,000) by Frantz Salvador
“Family Bonding” (P7,200) by Soika
White polo with front pocket design by Patricia Ramos
“Untitled 65 66 67” (P32,000) by Mars Bugaoan
Backpack with mermaid art from Randolf
Rabbit cast by Wataru Sakuma
“Paz” leather necklace by Will Mueco
Cropped patchwork purple denim jacket (P6,000) from Randolf
Omnibus runs until March 11, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. at A-11: Artelano 11, 2680 F.B. Harrison Street, Pasay City. For more information, follow Omnibus MNL on Facebook.
