(SPOT.ph) Indie movie fans have been looking forward to award-winning director Erik Matti's latest action-packed movie, Buy Bust. The film was supposed to premiere on February 28, but according to an announcement on the movie's Facebook page, they're now targeting a new release date because they're "planning a bigger Buy Bust."
The movie stars Anne Curtis as Nina Manigan, a cop tasked with a mission to catch drug dealers in the act. But during their covert operation, she and her colleagues get trapped in the drug den. Instead of them hunting the dealers down, the local residents turn on them as revenge for civilian casualties from previous operations. The film also stars AJ Muhlach, Victor Neri, Joross Gamboa, Brandon Vera, Mara Lopez, and Nonie Buencamino.
While you may have to wait a bit more before you get your dose of action-packed Pinoy films, the good news is, they've also locked in an international release in North America. Film distribution company, Well Go USA, has acquired the rights to do a theatrical release of the movie this year. "Erik Matti is always top of class when it comes to Filipino genre films, but with Buy Bust, he has truly outdone himself,” says Dylan Marchetti, Senior Vice President of Well Go USA, in an article by The Hollywood Reporter.
