(SPOT.ph) The Oscar nominations were recently announced and among those in the running for Best Animated Feature Film is Loving Vincent, the world’s first fully painted film. More than 100 artists worked together to paint the 65,000 frames of the film in Vincent Van Gogh’s signature style!
The movie premiered in the Philippines back in October 2017 for the QCinema Film Festival before hitting select SM Cinemas in November 2017. Well, now you have another chance to catch this masterpiece of a movie as it’s screening at U.P. Diliman's Cine Adarna from February 3 to February 19.
Set a year after Van Gogh’s death, the film follows the complicated relationships that Van Gogh had with the people around him. In the movie, a postman comes across one of the letters that Van Gogh had written for his friends and decides to find out for himself what led Van Gogh to take his own life. The letters are based on actual letters Van Gogh wrote when he was still alive.
The screenings are on February 3 at 2 p.m.; February 6 at 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m.; February 10 at 4 p.m.; February 14 at 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m.; and February 19 at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are only at P150, so it’s time to invite all your movie buddies—or give your usual movie date a call!
