(SPOT.ph) Ever since the announcement of Atom Araullo’s starring role, to throwing the MMFF some shade, there's been much noise behind Mike de Leon's comeback film, Citizen Jake. But the finer details about the much-awaited film—like its release date—have been relatively been more low-key. Earlier in January, they finally announced that the movie will premiere in March at U.P. Diliman’s Cine Adarna, but gave no further details—until now.
The previously announced March 10 premiere at Cine Adarna is now an invitational screening of the film. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the screening starts at 7 p.m. But there's no need to worry! There will also be a screening open to the public on March 13 at 7 p.m., also at Cine Adarna.
In the movie, real-life journalist Araullo plays fictional journalist Jake Herrera, who is caught in between a story that involves his family and dirty politics. In addition to his role, he also co-wrote the film with Noel Pascual and de Leon.
The film also stars Cherie Gil, Max Collins, Luis Alandy, Dina Bonnevie, Nonie Buencamino, Gabby Eigenmann, and Teroy Guzman.
