(SPOT.ph) Undoubtedly one of the biggest hits of 2017 was Kita Kita, a rom-com that centered around the blind Lea (Alessandra de Rossi) and the kind Tonyo (Empoy Marquez), who form an unlikely romance in Japan. Written and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the movie was such a success that it is now the highest-grossing local indie movie after earning P300 million after only four weeks.
Now, Bernardo is back with another movie, which she also wrote and directed. Mr. and Mrs. Cruz revolves around two strangers who meet when they both travel to Palawan in an attempt to escape their problems. Gela (Ryza Cenon) is a firm believer in marriage while Raffy (JC Santos) wants nothing to do with it. Despite their differing beliefs, they both spend their time together on the island and get to know each other more.
The movie is set to premiere on January 24, 2018.
